Ibanez DM-1000 Delay
You like digital delay boxes from the 1980’s? How about the Ibanez DM-1000. Its got lots of features but not a particularly fine sound. In 2007 I opened one up and added some additional circuitry. Its hard to explain what it does exactly… its sort of a granular looping effect.
The ugly controller is built in a toy enclosure:
